Registration of Property
The Stamp Duty Paid agreement has to be registered under the Indian Registration Act with the sub-registrar of Assurances, under that jurisdiction where the property is situated. The basic purpose of registration is to record the ownership of the flat. Until the title deeds in your name are registered or recorded, you will not be officially the Legal Owner of that property.
For doing registration, the original agreement printed on one side along with two photocopies have to be submitted to the registering officer at registration office. The registration requires two witnesses and the payment of the registration fee.
Registration Fee
The registration fee currently fixed for registering agreement relating to property transactions is approximately 1% of the market value or agreement value, whichever is higher, subject to Maximum of Rs.30,000/-( Thirty Thousand only).
